Our Mission

Alpha House Development Company is a Washington, D.C.–based nonprofit housing corporation organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

We exist to acquire, renovate, and build safe housing for vulnerable populations; support education and intervention efforts to help eliminate violence against women and children; promote financial education in communities of color; and produce written and media resources that advance public education.

We are committed to restoring dignity, stability, and independence to survivors of trauma through safe housing, financial empowerment, and faith-informed support.

Our Vision

We envision communities where survivors of violence and abuse have safe, stable transitional housing; access to trauma-informed support; financial education; and pathways to independence in supportive environments that promote healing and reintegration.

What We Do

Transitional Housing Development

Alpha House develops and partners in the creation of transitional housing facilities for survivors of child sexual abuse, women and children fleeing domestic violence, and caregivers and guardians referred by licensed agencies.

We pursue partnerships and financing tools such as Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), government property acquisition programs, site acquisition initiatives, and public-private development models to ensure long-term affordability and sustainability.
